Education Made Easy
Reinventing the way we share complex information to to a wider audience.
During my time at the Iowa Department of Natural Resources, I had the privilege of contributing to Iowa Outdoors magazine starting in 2017. My role evolved across various facets of the magazine and the communications department, where I honed my skills in writing, reporting, photography, and design.
One of the highlights of my tenure was the opportunity to manage a feature story on urban geese: I photographed the scenes, reported on-site, wrote the article, and designed the layout for the entire magazine. This multi-faceted project allowed me to create a cohesive narrative and conveyed the department's mission to engage and inform the public about Iowa's natural resources.
Throughout my time at the Iowa DNR, I embraced the challenge of combining storytelling with visually compelling design, ensuring each issue reflected both the informational goals and the environmental beauty at the heart of the DNR's mission.
